Barker & Christol is currently seeking an Advertising Account Executive with agency experience in the same capacity. Digital strategy experience is preferable.

This is not a sales position. This is a client relationship position. Our AEs are special because they form relationships with our clients to work with them to identify and achieve their marketing, advertising, promotions, and public relations goals. As our clients come first, our level of expectation is high. Be prepared.

The job is located in Murfreesboro, Tenn., one of the fastest growing communities in the country, and just a few miles outside of America’s It City, Nashville.

Roles & Responsibilities 

  • You will have an integral role in managing everything on your accounts, internally and externally.
  • Develop positive, productive, and collaborative relationships with clients and the agency team. Positive relationships build confidence and trust in your abilities. Make yourself a strategic partner to the client.
  • Understand the client’s business, industry and most importantly, the client’s customers. Understand the big picture of a client’s brand and connect it to all individual initiatives within the agency.
  • Lead and make decisions that balance the needs of the client with internal goals and teams, while actively seeking input and guidance from the Director of Accounts and/or Partners.
  • Lead the day-to-day management and implementation of client programs and initiatives and ensure flawless program execution within the agency as well as with outside vendors and service providers.
  • Initiate projects with clear and concise project and creative briefs with the Operations Manager and help designate resources for the project. This includes collecting and communicating client restrictions, presentation/delivery dates, assets, budgets, shared resources and deadlines.
  • Develop budgets with agency team members and consistently track spending.
  • Guide client feedback to get to the root of the issue, versus accepting and reacting to executional requests, and provide updates across internal teams for specific changes and changes in overall scope of a project.
  • Represent the agency’s perspective while being open and objective to what is best for the brand.
  • Provide abundant communication to the client on current projects, providing key deliverable status updates.
  • Assist Director of Accounts to assure accurate monthly client billing and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the agency team on new business to actively pursue new clients and revenue sources.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • 4+ years in an account management role at an agency or relevant communications industry
  • Minimum 4-year college education.
  • Full understanding of the principles of marketing communications planning, advertising, marketing, media, creative, production, public relations, research, agency finance.
  • A functional understanding of financial management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and be a self-starter in a very dynamic environment.
  • Positive, proactive personality.
  • Ability to listen actively and intently.
  • Worked on a diverse range of projects and types of work for clients: campaigns, web, mobile, social, video, and brand.
  • Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational and productivity skills.
